Orthodontics
Dr. Lee will evaluate your child’s orthodontic needs during regular dental check-ups. Some children may need early treatment while some children can wait till they are an adolescent.
Early interceptive treatment, also known as Phase I, is limited orthodontics treatment occurring between the age of six and ten. The permanent teeth have not all erupted yet, so it is the interceptive treatment of the mixed dentition. Palatal expander or partial braces are recommended to make more space for the developing teeth, to correct different bites such as crossbites, overbites, and underbites.
Phase II is also known as a comprehensive treatment where all permanent teeth have erupted. Full braces would be recommended and this usually happens between the ages of eleven to thirteen.
